When was the last time you had your kidney function tested?
What is a Kidney Function Test? The kidney Function Test measures the wastes and extra fluid eliminated from your kidneys. The test is called a Glomerular Filter Rate (GFR).
A GFR measures the range of how your kidneys are functioning.
There are 5 Stages of chronic kidney disease:
Stage 1: GFR 90–100% Kidney damage with normal kidney function Stage 2: GFR 89–60% Kidney damage with mild loss of kidney function Stage 3a: GFR 59-45% Mild to moderate loss of kidney function Stage 3b: GFR 44-30% Moderate to a severe loss of kidney function Stage 4: GFR 29-15% Severe loss of kidney function Stage 5: GFR ≤ 15% Kidney failure
