I would like to assist in AKBF because it is paramount that we contribute (by the masses) to this cause that can affect people of all ages and demographics.  The lack of knowledge on the severity of this issue is detrimental to the multitudes.

Allie's Kidney Beans Foundation (AKBF) reiterates the importance of creating a healthy lifestyle, which includes mind, body and spirit.  We often place a lot of emphasis within our communities on working hard, but little to no effort in supporting over overall health and it is silently destroying  our family members, friends, and communities.  I am a survivor of the silent killer called, "hypertension" (high blood pressure), it is something which is genetically passed through my family.  After several doctor visits over the years and various medications prescribed (some with very disturbing side effects) to bring my blood pressure under control.  This is one of the reasons I support AKBF, to continue to educate the community on how this condition is one of the many gateways to renal failure.  I personally know, the importance of receiving proper direction from my primary doctor.  In addition to the essential need for a sustainable life-long health plan to manage my hypertension.  All of which allows me to live a balanced life exercise, healthier foods, positive relationship and self-love.

Why do I support Alison Jones in her work through Allieskidneybeans?  First and foremost, she is a wonderful, wonderful person, and she is real!  In-spite of the many health challenges she encounters almost daily from this disease, she works tirelessly through her nonprofit organization to inform those struggling with this same disease about resources and opportunities that will make major differences in their lives and health as well.
She is resilient and has such great spirit!  She loves life and she loves people!  If she were not so well informed, she would not be with us today.  She has had to repeatedly challenge thinking, potential procedures and medical advice which has resulted in doctors rethinking medical decisions specifically for her that saved her life.  In-spite of the many health mountains she has had to climb throughout her life because of this most challenging and life-threatening disease (surgeries, techniques, procedures, etc.), she constantly gives of herself.  She wants to make sure others will not necessarily experience the same unnecessary challenges she has faced and will be enlightened about kidney diseases.  
She is still waiting for a matching kidney, and we all forward to the day when that matching person with the courage to do so, will come forward and be her donor, literally to save her life.  While we are waiting, I believe this wonderful, strong and faithful woman deserves my/our support!

I am in support of this initiative because minorities in this country continue to suffer from health disparities at disproportionate rates.  My sister is the founder of AKBF and has worked tirelessly to educate our community about the importance of kidney health.

​It is my desire to assist AKBF because the work that you are doing, in the midst of your own personal trial is appreciated and so very needed!  Often we do not want to "hear about such problems" because it is scary to think about and because we "feel fine" we believe (without knowing) the science behind our own personal #'s that we ARE FINE.  Which too often enough is NOT the case?  Your foundation is and can make a difference in the quality of life for others!  I am happy to assist, for my community, my family and for myself!  God Bless you on this journey!  Thank you for reaching out to others!
